Happy Mother’s Day <3
My mum one of the main reasons I joined Second Life. She’d heard about it from a news report on either ABC or SBS, and she signed up for it but was unable to play because my pop’s computer was far too old and still on dial-up.
A little while later, some people on a The Sims 2 forum we were both a part of (the Self-Sims United Project) started talking about Second Life. Mum told me she knew about it, and she thought it looked interesting, but she couldn’t get it to work. I decided to sign up too, and try to get it working for both of us, but I couldn’t get it working on pop’s computer either. It wasn’t until about a year later when I got my own computer that I was able to log on and finally see Second Life!
Until recently, mum hadn’t really been able to log on to Second Life very often, as she still doesn’t have the internet at her house. However, pop’s finally gotten a better computer and broadband internet, so we’ve come on and spent some time on SL a few times while she’s been there. Mum lives a fair bit away from me, and as I may have mentioned, I’ve been very sick and barely able to leave my bed let alone my house, so being on Second Life together is a nice way to spend time with her when I can’t in real life.
Today, we went for a horse ride on the AKK Ranch sim. Here we are on our demo horses - we’re too poor to buy one at the moment, heh… We had a good time, jumping around on the course - well, I had a good time making fun of her for how badly she was doing :-p
I love you very much, mum. You’re my best friend and I don’t know if I could have made it through these past few years without you. You’re one of the strongest, most kind-hearted people I’ve ever known and you’ve always been there for me when I’ve needed you. Thank you, for everything <3
(Beach-dome) on a cloud…

So, a hiatus… That’s a thing that happened. I apologise for posting absolutely nothing at all since last year. A lot of changes have happened in my life recently, not one of them good in the least bit.
Up until recently, I haven’t been on Second Life in quite a while. Hrmm… to be honest, I’ve had this post in my drafts for a couple of weeks now, constantly editing to explain exactly why I’d been avoiding SL. I’d written down a long, long, tl;dr rant post filled with passive-agressive (and sometimes just downright agressive) personal attacks. However, as much as I want to say what’s really on my mind, I think I should probably leave my personal crap out of this blog at the moment. Besides, goodness knows I’ve ranted enough on my personal Tumblr… and, well, pretty much everywhere else.
That said, I am very grateful to have found out who my real friends are. Those who IM’ed me whenever I log in just to check if I’m okay, who took my side in this whole mess, who’ve listened to me rant and scream and everything without threatening to delete or mute me, who have come by and hung out for hours so I wouldn’t be alone with my thoughts… Well, anyway, you know who you are, and I just want to thank you, is all. I don’t know how I would have gotten through all this without you. I mean it… Thank you.
So, anyway, moving on: I’ve recently bought a bit of land on Second Life! It’s been awhile since I’ve had my own place - a little over two years. It took quite a bit of looking around before I finally found the right place! Everywhere I looked was either too expensive or had too small of a prim limit (or both!). I was about to give up and just set my home to one of the quieter public sims I hang out at, until I found the perfect place! :-)
I found out about .::Bella Pointe::. while browsing the Second Life marketplace. I was almost immediately sold on the price, and the option to add more prims if I wished, but it definitely didn’t hurt that the available land looked so beautiful. The available choices of land were “The Hollow” (gothic) “Mountain Retreat” (mountains), “Sakura Island” (Japan), and “The Cove” (beach).
I decided to go with a small rental (250 prims for L$399/week) on one of the beach areas :-) I’m absolutely loving my new place. It’s very secure and private, and I love the free gifts (from a bag in the store) - a TV, a radio, an AO for swimming in the water, some jet skis and floating tubes.

*scrolls* “What a lazy blogger - no updates since 2012! Tsk!”
I also bought a new house to put in my new home. I do love my little skybox apartment, but I gotta say, while it looks lovely on the inside, the outside - a plain box - doesn’t quite look right, plonked down in the middle of the beach. My new home looks perfect, in my opinion, and really completes my little beach-dome. It came furnished too, with a cute rocking chair on the verandah, a decorative surfboard, a bed and bathtub, and some lovely beachy pictures that I quickly replaced with fandom posters :-p

Sorry for the lack of any posts…
I’m currently going through an extremely awful heartbreak, and on top of that my illness is getting worse and worse. I haven’t felt much desire to do anything, ever - heck, even my main blog is practically deserted most of the time. I realise I only have a few followers so I’m not even sure if anyone would see this, but anyway: Please be patient with me. I’m not sure when I’ll be okay, when I’ll get back to posting semi-regularly, but I just thought I’d let you know I haven’t abandoned this blog.
Hope you all have a good holiday. Please take care, and for goodness sake, please be nice to each other.
This is Halloween! (Part 2)
Went on another Halloween themed hunt tonight :-) This time, I went to the Spooksville Hunt & Trick or Treat Gatcha Fair. For this hunt, bones have been scattered all over the haunted village, so grab a HUD and collect them all to receive the grand prize! Also, each bone you find comes with a little prezzie, so you’ll still get a lot of cool free stuff, even if you can’t find them all - like I thought would be the case for me… I had such a hard time finding the last two hands!

As well as the hunt, there’s a Gacha Fair on the sim. For L$13, you can get either a “trick prize or a “treat” prize. This one was my favourite. I wanted both the “trick” AND the “treat”, so I had a couple of tries and got them both <3 Haha, I think that’s the most tries I’ve ever done on a single Gacha :-p
(By the way… Do make sure to have a proper look at all the Gachas. Just… trust me.)

Rats. Why did it have to be —-
Just kidding :-p Actually, I’m totally fine with rats, lol

I’m not sure if the grand prize is supposed to be a surprise or not, so I decided not to post a photo of it just in case… Instead, here’s my very gorgeous, very Halloween-y “trick” Gacha prize - the Twisted Tree Deck - as well as one of the prizes I got from one of the bones - the Mesh Rocking Chair.
Happy Halloween <3

This is Halloween!
When I was a kid, I’m pretty sure my friend and I were one of only a few kids in the neighbourhood who went out trick-or-treating… and usually only some of the houses we went to had something to give us - most of them weren’t actually prepared for trick-or-treaters and gave us lollies, chocolate bars, chips and fruit they already had in their cupboards.
Halloween isn’t really a big thing where I’m from. Though recently it’s getting more popular thanks to American TV, and the internet, there’s still not many kids who go out trick-or-treating… We got one last year, and I don’t think we had any at all the year before, though we always have something ready just in case.
Today I logged on to Second Life for the first time in over a month, just in time to do a few Halloween themed hunts currently going on. This year, instead of going on several big, 50-unknown-items, grid-wide hunt, I’ve decided to stick to just a couple of smaller hunts.

The first one is the Haunted Cornfield Maze and Trick and Treat Hunt. It’s an interactive cornfield maze, where you grab a Trick or Treat Candy Cauldron and go searching through objects for very cute vintage Halloween Cards. Once you’ve found all of them (every found card has a clue to finding the next one!), you can collect the grand prize!

Spiders. Why did it have to be spiders? Asdfghjkl oh god WHY did it have to be spiders?!

Sorry for the lack of posts…
I’ve been feeling particularly awful lately, mood-wise, and kinda avoiding talking to… well, anyone. At all. So, I haven’t been logging on to Second Life, even though I’d really like to build stuff and clean out my inventory.
So, I don’t have anything new to blog about. I’m sorry! I had a few posts planned before I went into angry, antisocial asshole mode - including a Halloween post - but I’ll get to that another time when I don’t feel like I’d react like Carla from Scrubs if anyone tried to talk to me.
Anyway… So, I was looking through my old personal blog a few days ago, when I found this:

This is from all the way back from 2006. Unfortunately, that’s the only one, and I can’t find it in a bigger size - it was resized really small to fit with all the other photos on the blog I posted it on, because for some reason back then I thought it was cool to have the photos on my blog be really small.
Anyway. So, that’s my real first Second Life picture :-) As you can see, I’d only just worked out how to edit my hair and skin, but hadn’t quite got the hang of prim hair and clothes. Also, my hand kinda cut through my stomach, ouch.
I remember when I uploaded this photo to my (now deleted) profile on MySL, and someone rated it one star. I was super insulted at the time, but I can definitely see why, haha. (Still, RUDE, I was just a newbie after all…) I’d like to think I’ve improved, if even just a little bit - my actual photography skills are still practically nonexistant, though :-p
Dinosaurs on a Second Life!
Well, a dinosaur on Second Life.
Last week, after watching last Sunday’s episode of Doctor Who (Dinosaurs On A Spaceship) together on Skype, Ace decided that he wanted a triceratops of his own. I told him I’d get him one by the end of the week.

And I did! Meet our very own Tricey, a sculpted dinosaur made by Neon Frog Studios.

We got the animated, rideable version, which lets someone ride up front and steer Tricey, while other avatars ride on it’s back. Gotta be honest, I’m not a huge fan of the riding-on-the-head pose, I’d really love the option to switch to the back or something. Still… we’re riding on a triceratops! That’s pretty bloody cool.

And so we finished the day with me running for my life from Ace on a Tricey. Y’know, the usual :-p
I wanted to join in on the Photofunia fun! :-)
I really feel sorry for whoever has to do that puzzle… so many plain pink pieces!
Day 4: How did you meet?
rawrimabadger:

We met in a DC Comics roleplay on Second Life. I played Raven, and he played Hal Jordan. Our characters were in other relationships - Raven with Beast Boy, and Hal with Terra, however we started talking one day when we did a casual, fun roleplay to cheer up a friend. While roleplaying, he IM’d me and we started talking about his plans for his spring break, and continued talking for hours. After that, we started speaking for hours every day, when previously we’d only had small talk while in a group chat with our friends. We had lots in common, including comics (of course), Doctor Who and Avatar: The Legend Of Aang. At some point, we decided to start roleplaying as Mai and Zuko, and, well, that’s where it all started :-)
My fiance is here for a (waaaay too short) visit, his third time here. He’ll be arriving tomorrow morning and I have soooo much I need to do before then, so I thought I’d very quickly reblog this from my main blog before I go on my sorta-hiatus! :-)
A few tattoos I’ve made on SL.
Sometime a while ago - I think at least two years ago? - we got tattoo layers in Second Life. This, along with the ability to have different textures on arms, and the ability to log on in offline mode, is one of the things I’ve always really thought Second Life needed, so I was really happy when I discovered this.
Today, I thought I might show you’s a few of the tattoos I’ve created :-)

The first tattoo I ever made was Raven’s tattoo, from the Teen Titans comics. Raven is my absolute favourite character, and I roleplayed as her a few years ago on the Aftermath sim. When I made this tattoo, it was a little while before tattoo layers came about, so I had to put it as an undershirt layer, which is why it’s a little higher up than I’d like - at the time I was REALLY poor, even more than I am now… I definitely couldn’t afford to upload the upper AND lower texture, lol. That would have taken hours to “camp” for!

My best friend Jetta very kindly posed for some pictures of the tattoos I made her awhile back! :-) Thank you, min Jetts <3

These tattoos are actually based on the tattoos Jetta has in RL! Recently, she’s got a Doctor Who tattoo on her arm, which I’d like to make, however… the whole one-texture-for-two-arms thing. (I’ll probably never stop bitching about that. -shrug-)

Finally, this is my dove tattoo, based on a really nice design I found on the internet. I have no tattoos IRL - yet - but when I do, this is exactly what I plan to get.
